International regulations governing the qualification of automotive devices require verification, by means of type-approval by a competent authority of an EU Member State, of conformity within the framework of electromagnetic compatibility of components and electrical units intended for use on motor vehicles.
IMQ can operate as a Technical Service for the National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI) for the issuance of Test Reports and/or Statements of Conformity, in the cases envisaged by the directive, for all the directives relating to electromagnetic compatibility and safety systems of two- and three-wheel vehicles (97/24/EC Chap.8, 93/33/EC), motor vehicles (2004/104/EC, 2009/19/EC and 95/56/EC) and agricultural and forestry vehicles (2000/2/EC) for the purposes of obtaining approval mark “e”, and for international regulations ECE-R10, ECE-R97 and ECE R116 (approval mark “E”).
IMQ can also undertake conducted and radiated interference emission testing to CISPR 12 and 25, testing of immunity to intense electromagnetic fields (bulk current injection, anechoic chamber) to ISO 11452 -2, -3, -4, testing of immunity to transient impulse noise to the new editions of ISO 7637 (2004), testing of immunity to electrostatic discharge to ISO 10605, and testing of conformity to the qualification specifications of leading European insurance companies and vehicle manufacturers.
