The verification, adaptation to safety regulations and management of plant and machinery are some of the most delicate health and safety issues for employers and their delegates.
Legislative Decree 81/08 (and European directives on occupational health and safety in general) require that work equipment made available to workers must conform with the specific legislative and regulatory provisions transposing EU product directives. This requirement does not just apply to machinery brought into service before the entry into force of the Machinery Directive, but also to CE-marked machinery where the safety measures adopted at the time of manufacture have been superseded by new regulations or technical solutions.
There is therefore an increasing need to update the safety measures used on machinery. Doing this requires a thorough knowledge of the legislation and technical standards to be complied with, in order to avoid the risk of incurring penalties and criminal liability.
With this in mind, IMQ can support employers in the task of adapting their machinery in accordance with Annex V of Legislative Decree 81/2008, which is mandatory for all machinery installed before 1996 that is not CE-marked.
