Within the general framework of international climate change protocols (Montreal and Kyoto), the European Union has been actively working to reduce emissions of substances that harm the ozone layer and substances that contribute to the greenhouse effect.
In Italy, F-Gases (fluorinated greenhouse gases) are regulated by Presidential Decree 146/2018 and Legislative Decree 26/2013, which implement regulation 517/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council aimed at protecting the environment by reducing emissions of fluorinated greenhouse gases.
Specifically, Presidential Decree 146/2018 made certification mandatory in Italy for companies that:
In order to operate, these companies must undertake a certification process with a body accredited by ACCREDIA pursuant to UNI CEI EN/ISO/IEC ISO 17065 and subsequently designated by the Ministry of the Environment. IMQ obtained this designation on 8 April 2019.
