The ISO 3834 standard is dedicated to welding and defines useful guidelines both for those who carry out welding activities and for those who evaluate the manufacturer's ability to produce welded products according to the standard requirements.
For welding activities, the quality cannot be totally controlled on the product, but must be "built" in the product: hence the introduction of the ISO 3834 standard which defines the "Quality requirements for fusion welding of metallic materials ". ISO 3834 is designed to be used both for fabrication (including any type of fusion welded construction) and for its assessment.
The quality management system in welding can be integrated with the quality management system (ISO 9001) obtaining benefits both in terms of optimization of the documentation and in terms of efficiency of the audit activities. The standard allows a unique definition of the characteristics of the welding and provides specific guidelines for the verification / qualification of suppliers of welded products.
