Tests of lighting technology and photometry
Our tests on the optical safety and photometric performance of luminaires provides manufacturers with a guarantee that their products meet the reference standards. Accredited to ISO 17025, IMQ’s laboratories conduct tests in accordance with the major European and international standards. The reliability and transparency of our test results is guaranteed by our state-of-the-art equipment and the expertise IMQ technicians have acquired from their experience, continuous updating and membership of the main working groups on international standards.
The main measurements we perform on luminaires include:
- determination of emission level of lasers - IEC 60825-1
- photobiological safety of lamps and lamp systems - IEC/EN 62471
- tests for the classification of products that emit coherent and non-coherent artificial optical radiation
- measurements of continuous and pulsed optical radiation in the UV, visible and IR spectra or measures of irradiance and spectral irradiance with consequent classification according to “risk groups”
- characterization of LED luminaires by measurements of input power, luminous flux, UGR, luminous efficiency, colour rendering index and colour temperature
- measurements and calculations of levels of artificial optical radiation aimed at assessing risks in the workplace
