Green tests, to improve the environmental impact of products
There is increasing demand for product sustainability, which is one of the cornerstones of the circular economy: the economic model towards which all industrialised countries are moving. Knowing the extent of a product’s impact across its life cycle, how much it consumes and the size of its environmental footprint is an important aid for assessing new production strategies. IMQ offers the following testing and measurement services to businesses interested in improving the environmental impact of their products.
- Measurement of product environmental footprint (PEF)
- Carbon and water footprint: assessment and quantification of greenhouse gas emissions (ISO 14067) and measurement of the impacts of a product/service/organisation on water resources (ISO 14046)
- Life Cycle Assessment: analysis of environmental impacts that goods/services have throughout their life cycle (in the case of a product, from extraction of raw materials to final disposal). The assessment is applicable to both products and services. Reference standard: ISO series 14040 and 14044.
- Tests of performance and energy efficiency of products: measurement of energy absorption on domestic and professional products, including for the purposes of energy labelling (Directive 2010/30/EU).
